Massive Pipelines in Russia

Russia is not only large in size but also abundant in natural resources. It possesses one of the world’s largest petroleum industries, as well as the largest reserves. It is also the world’s leading natural gas exporter and has the world’s second-largest coal reserves. All of those gases must be carried in some way, and Russia has built a vast network of pipelines. There are so many pipes that if they were all connected, they would form a 259,913-kilometer-long pipeline. Because the Earth’s circumference is only 40,075, traversing through all of Russia’s pipes is equivalent to walking around the planet six and a half times.
