Kenneth Branagh and Helena Bonham Carter

Successful collaborations between Kenneth and Helena helped make them two of the most recognizable faces in the United Kingdom and Ireland in 1994. Something clicked that year, and Kenneth directed Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Kenneth’s divorce from Thompson directly resulted from his affair with Helena, and the two went on to date for a while. In 1999, they ended their relationship. Thompson admitted that it had been difficult to accept what had transpired but insisted that she bore no ill will toward Helena.
