When Malala, a Pakistani women’s rights activist, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize at the tender age of 17, many people were ecstatic, and rightly so. Naomi Campbell intended to applaud the young woman who battled so hard for women’s education, but she made a small error. Rather than addressing her by her given name, Malala, she remarked, “Congratulations Malaria.” Malaria was a dangerous disease, not a person’s name, the last time we checked. Oops!
