This was something we didn’t recognise when we were younger, but it’s something that truly sticks out today. Maybe it’s just a product of its period, but the Harry Potter series takes great pleasure in fat-shaming people.
While some larger characters, such as Hagrid, are never made fun of, the Dursleys’ figures are mocked in an almost comical manner. When you consider how bad they are, it seems justifiable, yet a few quotations from the books may persuade you that Rowling had it out for the greater people.
