The students are quite cruel.
There’s no denying that being a teenager is difficult, whether you’re a Muggle or a wizard. Awkward romantic encounters, pulsing hormones, and a slew of other stressors combine to make life extremely difficult.
However, this does not excuse the fact that Hogwarts students are extremely cruel. Remember how everyone turned on Harry when he was picked for the Triwizard Cup? Or how they don’t blink when one of their friends falls off a broomstick during a Quidditch match? Those youthful magicians have the potential to be truly ruthless.
